We took the flavour inspiration of our Korean BBQ Beef Jerky to @jeremypang_official, and asked him to create us an epic marinade to use in the kitchen.

He combined a sticky garlicky marinade with a spicy BBQ rub and created these amazing bao buns – oozing K-Pop and crying our for Kimchi!

You Will Need

1x School of Wok BBQ Bao Kit

500g – 1Kg topside of Beef

The Rub (crush into fine powder)

3 cloves garlic

1 tsp of minced ginger

Spring onion

2-3 cloves

1 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp cinamon

½ tsp black pepper

The Glaze (Sticky Korean)

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

2 tablespoons of Korean chilli paste (gochujang)

2 tablespoons of ketchup

3 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

Make the School of Wok bao buns – following the instructions on inside pack.

Make the pickled veg

The roast Korean style beef

Crush “the rub” ingredients together in a pestle and mortar and then rub all around the beef joint.

Mix “the glaze” together in a bowl.

Preheat the oven to 180℃.

Sear the marinated beef in an ovenproof frying pan on a high heat. Turn the beef onto each side and sear until nicely browned. Once browned on each side, pour “The Glaze” over the beef and allow to vigorously boil. Baste the beef in the glaze and then place in the oven for 15 minutes – 25 minutes depending on how well done you want the meat to be.

Slice the beef and place inside the bao buns
